funny place to mount the anchor...........:rofl

just teasing, i would love to have a "W" powered ski boat. but dont waste your money bringin a W to the boatdrags.
i miss drag boat racing occaisionally. a fwe days of each year it chews on me for awhile. glad i retired on top. there's only 2 ways out of dragboat racing. quit or die. no kidding, 172 would feel awsome!
my boat would go 145 plus there at the end......which sounds fast, and you know your rollin....try to imagine, youve got the pedal buried into floor the gauges are just a blurr, the motors hummin near 8 grand and then the guy next to you in the blown alky hydro passes you at 190........bummer.
thanx for thinkin of me Jim

it's a 1/4 and even though you punch it from a dead stop, the timers dont start till you get to the starting line. some races it's 60 feet, some 100 and some we start from a roll. there's a big timer floating in the center. you have to learn how to hit the start without redlighting or snoozin. my favorite aws always to attempt a redlight, then get off the down pedal causing a big wheelie, the beam would be under the boat, then pedal it over, raising the tail out of the water then you're gone. the sensation goes from boating to skating in a matter of moments. here's an example: me at the nationals in High Point NC

Walkerheaders didn't tell it all. You gotta remember, the engine is reach-out-an-touch-it behind you!. Kinda like a rear engine dragster. And when Bob ws doing it the driver wasn't in an air tight capsule!. Now the driver is encapsulated in the blown fuel hydro's. Something about too many drivers DYING!.
