What is the difference between a 1963 Impala SS and an Impala Super Sport? I thought SS meant SuperSport. Nada list them as two different cars with two different values. :dunno

I agree with Bob.........some of these associations don't watch their publications very closely........

The other day a local dealer advertised a Corvette as a 2 door with a rust free body......... :scratch :rofl

SS and Super Sport are the same.......

bj.. :cheers

The 62 Chevy II model had the 100 & 300 series offerring 2 door sedan & 4 door sedan also a 4 door station wagon. The deluxe 400 Nova series offered 2 door sports coupe & 2 door convertible & 4 door station wagon. Bucket seats option for $50 could be installed in the 400 sports coupe or converible. But did not badge it as SS.
In March of 62 both Hot Rod & Motor Trend did the how-to for the V8 using the Chevrolet Engineeing kits parts you could buy from the dealer.
In 63 the SS (super sport) option came about for $150 bucket seats console 14 in. tires and tri-bar spinner wheel covers. The SS sold about 87,000 units. Still no factory V8.
The 64 model was the first year for the V8 as a option. using the 283 cu. with a 2 barrel & 4-speed only. But the SS (super sport) and convertible option was dropped. But in mid-year the sport coupe and SS were reinstated but not the convertible.
