I was rummaging through some parts that a friend of mine had left over from a speed shop he ran back in the mid sixties and found a NOS Hurst Shifter and kit with a part number of 291 6516 on the box. It looks complete, but I cannot find that part number on the Hurst site. Does anyone have an old catalog which might show what this might fit?

Hello,
Go to www.precisionpontiac.com and ask Pete, he'll know. Actually he wrote a book on HURST. I haven't bought one yet but I'm sure its very interesting. Pete is an authority on this stuff. If he knows, he'll tell 'ya! Good luck!

I sure would like to know what the application is for the the Hurst Number 291 6516. The tech line at Mr. Gasket (who bought Hurst) says they do not have the old part numbers that Hurst used. Does anyone have an old Honest Charlie catalog or some other old catalog which may have the info in it? From looking at the individual part numbers on the shifter, the linkages, and installation kit it appears to be for a full size 63-64 Impala without a console.
