Has Anyone On Our Website Ever Thought About Building A Factory Stock 348 Or
409 Car For The Pure Stock Drags Or The F.A.S.T. Competition? These Events Are
Alot Of Fun! At The Pure Stock Drags( A 2-Day Event ), They Have A Series Of Best-
Of-3 "Mini-Shoot-Out" Races. Drivers, And, Cars Are Paired Up In Even Match-Ups,
Based On Time Trials, Run Before The Actual Races, And, Race Against Each Other,
Like The Old-Style Match-Racing. I Do Not Know Much About The F.A.S.T. Racing,
Except That The Cars Are Much Faster Versions Of Factory Stock Musclecars. They
Run 2 Different Classes: F.A.S.T., And, Factory Stock, And, I Believe, They Run A
Form Of Round-Robin Type Racing. I Do Not Know Their Website Either, Or, If They
Even Have One. The Website For The Pure Stock Drags Is:( For Info On Rules, etc.) www.purestockdrags.com, Which Will Take You To, www.geocities.com/psmcdr/.

There Are Currently 2 Racers Running W-Engined Chevys In The Pure Stock Drags
Events. One Of Them Is Charlie Lombardi From North Providence, Rhode Island.Charlie Runs A 1963 Impala SS 2-Dr. Ht. With The 409/425 Dual-Quad Engine, 4-Speed Trans., And, Either 4:56 Or 4:11 Gears In The Rear-End. Charlie
Is Currently Running In The Low To Mid 13-Sec. Range In The 1/4 Mile. I Personally
Met Charlie At The Race, At Norwalk Raceway, June,15,2003, And, Enjoyed Talking
To Him; He Is A Super Nice Guy. He Won His Best-Of-3 Shoot-Out That Day, And,
Has Won Many In The Past, Including A Mini-Shoot-Out With A 19631/2 Ford
Galaxie R-Code 427/425 Fastback, Of Which Was Recorded In Muscle Car Review
Magazine, Shortly After The Race Was Run. I Had Alot Of Fun At Norwalk That Day!

The Other Racer Is Karl Riebel From Shelby Township, Michigan. Karl Runs A 1964
Impala SS 2-Dr. Ht. With The 409/340 Single-Quad Engine, 4-Speed Trans., And,
4:11 Rear-End. Karl's Car Runs In The 14.30-14.50 Sec. Range In The 1/4 Mile.

I Would Like To See, And, Hear About More 348 and 409 Cars Participating In This
Unique And Exciting Form Of Racing, To Give Our Engines, And, Cars Even More Exposure.Think About It Seriously Fellow Members!! I Would Like To Hear Your
Opinions And Feedbacks On This Subject. Thank You. Regards:"ww".

I think the FAST series is a great idea. You are allowed to do what ever you want to your car as long as it looks and sounds totaly stock. There's no putting a 502 in where a 396 used to be but you are free to stroke and bore the 396. I think it's okay to port heads, intakes and even exhaust manifolds but you can't use headers or anything else that doesn't look stock. I think you have to stay within one tire size of what came stock and I don't think DOT drag radials are allowed. Here's a link... http://forum.yearone.com/default.asp?C=3

Thank You, Jim SS 409, For Posting That Link. There Was A Post Regarding The
Z-11, On There. They Are Not Legal In FAST Because Of The Aluminum Body Parts.
Keep The Feedback Coming On This Subject, Fellow Members!! Regards:"ww".
