I am really jealous of all you lucky racers meeting in Norwalk but it is just to far for a west coaster like myself to travel. :cry

The good news is that Woodburn Dragstrip here in Oregon has to great nostalgia events every summer. :D

The first is the Oldies But Goodies on June 25 & 26. It is for 1965 and older cars. It has many feature classes, Top Eliminator Dragster, AA/Supercharged coupes and Pro Nostalgia. They have classes for everyone.

The second is the Hot Rod Nationals on August 13 & 14. It is for 1970 and older cars. It is the same event with the addition of the '66 thru '70 cars.

Both events are terrific. Woodburn is a great facility with lots of room to camp. It would be a perfect for a West Coast gathering of W-motor cars. I know dq, myself and Steve Gregory will have our cars at both events but we want more.

This is the link to the dragstrip www.wooodburndragstrip.com. Lets get some West Coast action going. :beerbang

Garbageman, good idea for you westcoast guys :) Our Norwalk show started with 3 of us,Fatride and SS425HP were going to a test and tune and I was going to come and watch them run it off.Now we have at least 20 members and 15 W-Powered cars attending.I'll give you a few tips to increase your attendence.Start a thread in the Convention section ( Westcoast Mini Convention ).If you see a member post a thread and they are in driving dictance, invite them to your event,i'm sure a member won't mind you highjacking there thread. Also you can send a member a PM that is in driving dictance and invite them.I sent out 10 PM'S to members and I got at least 5 members to attend.I highjacked at alot of threads and we got a few more members.I hope this information helps you gain more members :dunno

Between the 2 Norwalk posts we had 5,451 views on the threads :)

Thanks for the ideas Jim. I was torn as to were to start my thread but a "West Coast Mini Convention" sounds good. Like you guys attending Norwalk I want things to be real informal. :cheers
Is there any way of knowing a members location from the members list?
Maybe I can get dq to make some comments of encouragement. :rofl He always finds the right words to say. :D

I talked to dq two weeks ago and he's work on it. He was shoveling gravel on his driveway when I called and had a lot more to do involving his move. I'll call him in the near future to see if he's still alive.
Mean while I'll run through the members list.

Oops, I misspelled the dragstrip web page. It should be www.woodburndragstrip.com. I'm disappointed that I haven't heard any response one way or the other about getting together a Woodburn. I know there are fellow W-heads here in the West. Maybe you are all packing for the long trip to Norwalk.
