Went to Summit racing today. Picked up a pair of M&H racemaster drag radials, 4 3 bolt header flanges and a analog tire pressure gauge.

Bob, I just finished up the air bag installation today. Separate air lines, clean install. DOT drag radials come next. Calling the shop tonite for the chassis dyno. I will be running through the headers on the dyno. I want to see where the air fuel ratio is under WOT and with a load. I have a hunch that I will be lean!

Fat - Great news on the purchase of the drag radials!!!!! Let us know how they affect your 60'. The air bag set up was the best thing that I have ever done to my car to get it to hook up. I run 6 lbs in the drivers and 12 in the passengers.

What brand bags are you using ? cost ? I just stuck 295/50/15 under my 60, with hyjackers (I know i need to ditch the air shocks, hence the airbag ?) Love to here how the drag radials affect things...

I just picked up my BFG drag radials today, I've been running 255/50x16 BFG's for years, they hook as good as a slick (the car ran a 8 and a 1/2 inch Goodyear slick before being changed to BFG's, same 60's).

I don't know a thing about M&H's but my BFG's hook best run at 25lbs, and I've run them all over the place pressure wise!. If it's a true radial it will have a stiff sidewall and you should test it hard and drop the pressure a pound at a time, like I say, I bracket race regularly and know where MY car hooks best, and that's with high pressure. But then that's always been the case, even with belted tires, they like higher pressures over softer.

Thank's for taking time to share Fran, that said, most of what I have been reading on the drag radials say's that tire pressure is detemined by vehicle weight and trial.

Fat: Yes, and rim width, I'm guessing a Corvette 15x8 Rallye wheel would work best, in any event, use an 8" rim with a 255 or wider tire. As for tire pressure, keep it real if your using these on the street, as in a rim width near the tread width. Running a wide tire on a narrow rim and then dropping the tire pressure only works if you have a soft sidewall, and any drag radial you buy will have a stiff sidewall because their meant to be used with radials all around. Unless your a NMCA racer.

Start out high and work down, my guess is the best pressure will be higher than you expect.

By the look of things I'll be running in the neighborhood of 24 psi and will do a couple of good smokie burnouts to bring the sticky compond to the surface of the tire. After that it will be short burnouts and a few hops. :brow
