I took the '62 out to Woodburn for their "Battle of Detroit" race, Chevy vs. Ford vs. Mopar. The car ran very consistent all morning, which isn't bad for a 4spd car. My 60' times were 1.94 - 1.97 and I was running on my dial in 13.36. I made it to the semi finals late afternoon and was running a 13.98 dodge. I had a great burnout and stage the car. The dodge left, my lights dropped and I popped the clutch, spun the tires and the car went side ways towards the wall. :doh I gathered her up and hammered the gears all the way down the track. I caught the dodge just as we blew through the traps. I lost :cuss I did get third place overall but breaking the tires loose cost me the race. I guess the heat of the day caused the track to get greasy.
I had a great time. Steve Gregory was there with his '62 running 11.63. He red lit in the third round ending his day. We'll get together again in June for the Oldies But Goodies and hopefully dq will be able to attend.
What a great weekend. :cheers
