Well, it took two weeks. Don't know what was going on...
FINALLY got a few videos up.
It's a bit strange to work. Rather than automatically opening your media player, the video file plays directly from your open browser window. I think some may not be able to view the videos due to format issues.
There are a couple very large files ( + 4.5 MB ) which may make them unsuitable for dial-up connection :( ...
Just wanted to share some noise... hope you enjoy :)
Here's the direct link to the video page:

Thank you, Jim and Fred :bow
That's all the fooling around I get to do for a while now.
Will be selling off a couple cars, and whatever extra parts I have on hand. I have a few responsibilities to tend to.
Then, maybe in the fall, I'll be back out. :dunno

Thank you again, guys :bow :)
I'm back from the hospital. Shoulder surgery to repair two torn tendons. Unfortunately, they had retracted too far, and the natural healing/scar tissue that had developed since 11:22 AM ( Winnipeg time ) September 15, 2004, prevented the tendons from streching back into place. So, permanent disability. He did manage to remove a bone fragment that was broken off at the same time as the injury occurred. This should eliminate the pain that was there... just no strength when initiating upward movement of my left arm. kind of a drag... I WAS basically ambidextrous.
On a positive note, because the surgery didn't "take", I have a much shorter recovery time. Trouble is, I'm recovering back to the condition of the original injury :dunno
So, now I'll be concentrating on looking after some responsibilities... selling off some stuff, and getting back on track for the fall.
Aubrey ( CPG )
gee, this one hand typing is a annoying :bang ( usually type left and "shift" right :p )

Aubrey, We're so sorry to hear that your results were so disappointing. Things seem to come in bunches and you have certainly received your share lately. :?
That means that things can only get better and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. ;)
Warmest regards,

"since 11:22 AM ( Winnipeg time ) September 15, 2004,"
I didn't know that you had gotten hurt on the weekend of the convention. That's must have made a bad situation even worse. :cuss I'm sorry to hear the surgery wasn't a complete success. Maybe once the pain is gone other muscles will be able to give you at least a bit more mobility than you now have. Still, I guess you won't be reaching over the fender to change 409 heads any time soon. :( But I guess if you want to look at the bright side, your shifting arm is still okay! :D Good luck on a speedy recovery. :cheers

Just a quick message ( pun intended ;) )
Shoulder is now healed back to the original "injured" condition ( completely torn rotator cuff )... permanent. Most of the pain is gone though. Just can't hold my arm up easily.
Anyhow....
I did the polyurethane rear control arm bushings... and yes, I boxed the lower control arms :dunno ( I still say that's a "Chevelle problem" :dunno ).
Engine is back together. Installed a set of K Motion springs... single with damper ( as original ), with spring cups and shimmed. About 240 pounds on the seat.
STILL will get valve float at about 7200 ( More spring yet? ).
Before this new spring / cup, I was getting a "laying down" of torque at about 6100-6200... with a breaking up because of valve train harmonics at about 6400-6500 ( went through the traps at Medicine Hat at 6700 RPM... but it was falling off in the last 300 ft. ).
Well... the "laying down" at 6100, is GONE :deal
Runs to 7000 with the same determination that it used to reach 5800 :deal
Wanna see ? :deal
My website guy managed to upload this for me.
http://www.bruneauperformance.ca/watchfasteststock409.html
Can't confirm who the driver was though. ( BIG file... 4.1 MB )
Here's a picture too:
You can see that I dropped the front a bit

I noticed there's no timing equiptment at your "track" :D but the car sure looks to be running good. :beerbang Have you got plans to get to a real track this year to see how much the new springs helped.

Thanks Jim's :brow
I thought it was a pretty "nasty" view...
Now if some of the FAST guys would post their videos :deal :bow
Bear in mind... mine is a stock crank, .068" over, "stock" .500" lift mechanical cam, stock combustion chamber volume, 690 heads, factory intake.
Power ?
seems ok
but
As you can see...
It doesn't stop SPINNING :bang :dunno :?
On that run, I let the clutch out at about 3500 RPM... sang to 7000 like I was on a wet street :bang .
Can anybody help me with this traction issue ? :bow

Aubrey,
That car sounds really nasty. You need to go to a good chassis man. Some adjustable upper arms maybe. A couple of different holes for the front pivots of the lower arms. A nice long chat with Denny Ford might help. He seems to be able to hook his biscayne up. Even Allen George (Blue Screamer) They have more horsepower than you and they hook them up. Remember in that video you weren't on a groomed and properly prepared track. There is a big difference between a highway and a race track. TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!!

If something goes right, the next, and last time out this year will be this coming Friday... September 2, 3, 4. , in Medicine Hat, Alberta. NHRA Open, Stock / Super Stock combo.
Running on an altitude adjusted index of 12.00... ( I just hope we don't have a 4400 ft barometer again... with a 20MPH head wind :doh )
Considering my less than adequate traction / chassis setup, I think the best I can hope for is 11.60's.
