Maybe you should look for a bare block and or a rebuildable one. Then you will know for sure how good it is. Thats a lot of money you could do it yourself. John

29,if your willing to pay $5,000 for 348 without intake, why not spend another $1,000 for a 409/425 :dunno The 409 i'm talking about is in our for sale add's,here's the link.

Five Grand is alot of money for a 348. Besides, the parts list is all garden variety stuff.
I dont know about others here, but my experience with EGGE pistons has not been good
Besides being CAST pistons, the set that I did buy from them were SO FAR varied in weight that static balancing became a problem.

well, if you look at Aurbreys website, he rebuilds 348's for $4200 american, so i dont see how $4995 is ALOT for a 348.

Ok Mike, why do you want a 348 and whats wrong with the 348 in your 29 :dunno In my opinion $5,000 is way too much $$$$ for a 348 without intake and carbs. In my opinion again,I much rather have a 409/425 for $6,000 than a 348 :dunno

well, #1 i dont have $6,000, and #2 i really dont care if i have a 348 or a 409...tops i will have to spend is $4500....my motor is EXTREAMLY tired, and instead of putting my car up for some time, while i have my 348 rebuilt, i would rather buy an already built on, so i can have my car on the road the same day, maybe 2 days tops.

Ok I understand you don't want a 409.Why can't you wait till winter time, were you have 5 to 6 months to build your own for half the $$$$$ :dunno

Why not buy one of the two engines Ronnie, a well known member of this site, has for sale on Ebay. He has both a 348 and 409 engine for sale that are ready to go.
See this link.
