I need a small gear reduction starter that mounts to the bellhousing. Anyone know who makes one?

Steve, doesn't your block have bolt holes for a starter? Should be either 2 or 3 bolt holes. The staggered holes are the ones you want to use. I'm not familiar with a small geared starter that will bolt up. And none that bolt to the bell housing. The starter I'm using is a GM starter, as used today. It is smaller, and will clear the headers. Summitt lists it as a PM-9200 if I remember right. It is available at GM, though. The geared starters are bolted from the side by side holes, and they don't align on our blocks. If you need help on this, email me.

Trying to get hold of the shop to see if he can or will do the exhaust for you.

Fred, I have a Mccloud scatter shield and the motor plate is made to accept the starter. I don't think a starter mounted to the block will work???

Here you go Steve, they have your application. They are in Derry, PA and a bit pricey but well worth it. Spins my '09 like a top, rotatable, NEVER heat soaks, 300k life expectancy, great reviews and I highly recommend them. :clap Hope this helps...
