Just recieved an e-mail from an unsucessful bidder on a complete 409 engine sold earlier this week. The bidder recieved offer from someone ( claiming to be me) to sell engine for $3,500 ." Send a money order immediately, and its yours." Where to send money order? London, England I guess it never ends. part of doing e-bay business. It is a shame there is no way to police this problem.

Ebay is so good, you can find anything... but is so bad at the same time for cheap shots like this... :(

Watch out for recent scam for EBAY users. Happened today. Email sent to me indicating that I need to re-register with EBAY. Format identical with EBAY web page. It indicates that if you do not re-register, your registration will be terminated etc. etc. It asks you to re-submit your ID and your password, and your credit card number, and the three digit code on the reverse of the card, AND your PIN for ATM machines. I contacted EBAY "ON-Line Chat and they said it was a fraud and to forward this email to their "Spoof@ebay.com. They stated that any messages to EBAY users will be posted in "My messages" on their web page, and no where else. If you get anything else through your email ...report it to them. If I can attach a copy of this email... I will.

If you get an email message from ebay, it is not ebay. They won't contact you by email only message you in your profile. You can forward the scam to scam@ebay.com and they get on the problem.

I got one of those exact same e-mails. I didn't even have an account. Was a year ago or so. Called e-bay direct and they toldme it was a scam. Apparently they haven't solved it yet.

Those are very common. I get one every so often and report them. (for what good it will do, they must get thousands a day)

You can add me to that list too. I get those every so often and have reported them to ebay. Doesn't seem like they have been stopped or maybe it's a few people trying to pull off the same scam?

I have gotten 4 a week sometimes and have gotten 65 of these. Everytime I list an item or buy an item these Spoofs follow. They can't fix it. Just be careful and watch your ebay accounts
