Finally got the car back together sat morn @ 2:00 am , after a number of connecting rod clearance problems { hitting oil pan } :bang I replaced the stock bb rods w/ eagle H-beams. Hopefully timing gear problem is done with . :dunno

We went to Maple Grove in reading pa. for the Geezers nostaglia race.

Lost 3rd round w/ a red light but after winning 1st 2 rounds w/ really good clean runs & nice et 's & reaction times it didn't hurt quite so bad

Third pass on a fresh motor w/ the long awaited new heads was a 10.88 @ 122.76

Two rounds of brake light racing @ 10.88 & 10.94 on the brakes , both wins then a redlight & hung it out 10.83 @ 123.11 The tempature was nearing the 100 degree mark , can't wait for some cool fall air & high barometer.

Bluescreamer was there & running good as usual . Allen also went a couple of rounds.

Denny, I know we talked on the phone about this race. I was thinking later, what are you doing at an old geezers race???????? I can see Allen being there!!!!!!!!!! I'll bet Deb really felt out of place :) I take it Carl Bucks didn't make it. You guys sure do hold the 409s up for some good shows. Hope to join you some time.
Congratulations to both of you.

Denny: I'm Very Happy That You Are Back Racing, And, That Your Car Is Running
Real Good!! IMO, You Did Really Well, Considering That It Was Your First Time
Racing The Car In A While, Especially Against That Tough Competition. I Checked
Out The Ole Geezer Race, On Maple Grove's Website, And, There Were Alot Of
Real Nice, Awesome Nostalgia Super Stockers Racing There!! And, I Saw Carl Buck's Car In The Photo Gallery, Also; I'm Very Happy That He's Back Racing, Too.

BTW, Denny: I Really Enjoyed Your Thread On The Successful Machine Work That You Had Done On Your Cylinder Heads!! I Wish That I Knew Of Any Machinists In The Central NY Area That Can Do That Type Of Top Quality Professional Work On
Cast Iron Cylinder Heads And Blocks!! Regards:"ww".
