As i have mentioned in other reply's & posts , i have been working on getting a new set of "690's " done for my car. I ran into a problem w/ one of the heads, it was cracked in exhaust crossover area. Kinda depressing after all the work & $ to get disappointed when pressure tested to make sure screw in studs didn't leak.

After trying to get head welded locally w/o success I contacted one of our members VA 348 after remembering his mentioning he could get any cast iron problem corrected by some body he knew. His statement was true !!!! Saved my cyl head but got a big surprize. After a few conversations w/ him i realized he knew what was going on. After the head was welded in a furnace the guides & ect had to be put back after the exposure to high oven temps.

He redid work to guides & ect & returned head to me !! His work was beautiful & i sent other head back to him & had seat & guide work redone .

Point of my post is , if any body on east coast needs any kind of QUALITY machine work done i would reccomend having Dale treat your parts like they are his !!!!!!!! :clap

BTW he is building a really trick 61 hard top /

He is located in southern va. not too far off I - 81

With all the problem's with people getting boned & bs'd it is nice to see a man of his WORD "

There is an instructor at Texas State Tect. Institute in Waco, Texas that is one great welder. A friend of mine had factory origional Z-11 exhaust manifolds hanging on his shop wall and both fell. One was in 7 pieces. This instructor furnice welded both manifolds and you cannot see where they are welded. Cost $300.00 My friends son was going to school at TSTI at the time, that is how he found this guy. He has been running the exhaust manifolds for over a year in his 62-409 Impala with no problem. :cheers

My guess is yes , from my experiance. He does not personally weld them but has a connection w/ somebody who does. The welder knows his stuff !!!!!!!!!! call dale & talk to him , really nice person !

Don't know where your located , but consider him to do your machine work.

If you can ship FEDEX from your area the cost is not too bad.

Good luck

Denny

BTW The heads off the car that i replaced are very ,very deep on the valve seats, this winter we are going to weld all the valve seats to bring them back where they belong.
