View Full Version : Cragar 4-71 Blower intake?
One of my customers and freinds has a Cragar 4-71 Blower intake for a 409. From what we have been told it is roughly 1 of 8 or so? Anyone have details or know anything about them?

my experience with the crager manifolds has always been good. crager made blower manifolds for alot of applications back in the good old days. i saw one of these at a swap meet years ago ( I should have bought it ). i did buy a big port 409 weiand blower manifold back then and it's on my tee bucket engine today. i never regreted spending the 40 bucks! HA HA. i wonder what it would go for today on ebay!!

gearhead, since I have no experience with blowers, could you tell me how many years or miles you have on your set-up? Does it require much maintenance? I dont want to detract from Tman s question , but I have always been curious about blowers on the street. Thanks,,

the T-bucket has about 15,000 miles on it. the last 5,000 miles have been with this engine in it. this engine was built in 1990. the blower will last a long time, after all they would last 400-500 thousand miles on a detroit diesel engine. the first part that will wear out with high miles is the drive pulleys. in the 1980s i built and installed over 30 of these set-ups on streetrod cars and i still see some of them still running at car shows today. now how long will the engine last? depends on how fast you want to go!!! SORRY for getting off track Tman.
