hi ,,,need to know if i drill this hole to fit a 1/8-27 npt for a new water temp sending unit, is there water at the bottom, if i drill down?

made the dash for gauges now starting the wiring. looks like a bucket of worms under here.
i have a 6x9 trans cooler is it better to bypass the rad. or go thur it? i'm going thur it now then to cooler. thanks mike

Yes, there's water at the other side.....but the question is.....why not use the one on the other side of the tstat?

thanks for the reply,,,good ? well i what to keep the stock one working to, and did not what a big piping mess on the top. auto-meter uses a nice little sending unit and most people will not notice it.
do you know of a better place? thanks again

I also wanted to keep the stock sender.

I used a short pipe nipple and a tee fitting just below the thermostat. The short nipple is required to allow the tee fitting to be tightened without contacting the manifold.

I painted it to match the engine and covered the wire in the factory type wire loom.
