I have a 1963 Impala SS with a 409/425hp. Can someone please tell me if it was produced with "dripper" type valve covers only or were some made with the standard ones? Thanks for your help!

WM,
There is no record of any legit '63 solid lifter '09s being built without dripper valve covers (that I've heard of) Many assembly line "mistakes" could have occured, but that one is unheard of yet. I'd stick with the assembly manual specs and use drippers. The solid lifter engines benefit from them anyway, due to higher valve spring pressures, which mean more friction load on the rocker balls.
