hi guys. my name is brett,I,m 42 ,have a wife ,two kids, two boxer dogs and about 6 unfinished project cars in my yard including a very rough 62 bubbletop that i',m still gathering parts for.the next part of the story i told on the old forum years ago but will repeat for the new guys.In the early 60's my dad and his brother both raced locally, track and street.my dads first fast car was a 62 406 ford.then a 66 gto tri power a 57 chev 150 and a judge. he bought a new 1969 ram airIII 4spd in 69.my uncle always had 58 pontiacs 370,tri-power auto.he would take different intakes to the track and run in two bbl,4bbl and tri power class.he still has this car and it still runs great. anyway, their dad,my grandfather decided he wanted to go with his boys to the races.he talked to his banker and found a 63 impala 425hp car that was repossesed in portland oregon.i think this was about 1965.so they all attended many of the northwest tracks until about 1970.needless to say,i as a kid got a great dose of fast cars and was hooked.later my dad helped out at raisin city dragstip near fresno cal and i got to meet some of the big boys. oh yeah ,my uncle still has grandpas 409 it is very nostalgic looking with chrome reverse wheels on front, steel on back, old hooker headers and an isky solid roller cam.the best old timeslip i could find was a 12.99 at madras oregon. ps this site is the best. thank you
