Many thanks to the guys that help me with the frame priming ang painting question Tom Kochtanek, real 61 ss, Cecil, Rock, threeimpalas, Walker Jr etc
Here in Peru is very difficult to find a 409 engine so I decided to assemble an sb 327 engine, just like the 327 1962 bubbbletop belair car version. (very rare on these days due to almost all these bubblet cars 6 cyl and sb were converted to 409 engines).
I have a 327 block number 3789817 it was made from 62 to 1967, It has the suffix code mb so the power range of these engine is from 210 to 275 hp, it was maybe acamaro engine. I also have 3890462 camel humb heads 64cc ,2.02, 1.6 .they were built from 1966 to 1967. I think this block can deliver 210 hp considering a 2bbl carb and low perf heads. What horse power can I get with this block using the camel humb heads, an stock cam, and a 4bbl carb? which is the correct carb for these 327 engine? cfm I need?Do you think Im making a good choice assembling this 327 engine block and heads for my 1962 bel air bt project considering that I like to build it just like some one would have in the sixties?
I have bought an m20 muncie yesterday for this car.
many thanks for your always kind support

That 327 with the power pack heads will be a good fit to the car !!

You can make a 327 FLY !!!! I race a guy at the track with one in a `63 (mid 12`s)and lost to him untill I got all the kinks figured out.

You can make as much HP as you want with the 327,,, they are one of the best sized Chevy enginesand the HP heads work excellent on them !!

I would go with a beefier cam then stock and a Edelbrock 650 AVS carb.

With a 4 spd trans you should be able to run some really good times and have a very nice streetable car !!:clap

Good luck ,dq

Alvaro:

Sounds like you are making good progress :).

The SBC you are contemplating makes good sense, considering how hard it might be to locate a "W" engine in Peru. As an option, you can send me your '62 Sport Coupe if you'd like and I will take real good care of it :) :) :).

I say go for the 327 with old school mods and looks, and your end product will really stand out.

Good luck!
