Hi there,
I live in the UK and over the last couple of years have built and raced an early Corvette in historic racing events (see pictures in my album).
I have just put down a deposit on a '64 Impala ss 2DHT in need of restoration that I'm hoping to prepare to go racing with against Galaxies and Falcons on the circuits of Europe. I plan to fit a 'W' motor and thought I best get myself onto the best web site for 348/409 enthusiasts!
Anyway, I blame Aubrey Bruneau for not talking me out of this project.
More info soon,
Adam :)

Welcome to the site!!!!

I wonder whatever happened to Dan Gurney's '61 409
Hardtop he raced in England during 61-62?????

THAT would be a neat car to locate.

Welcome to the "club" Adam! You'll find LOTS of useful info here! Actually, Dan Gurney's 61 409 Impala was sold to an Australian man after being raced in England in 1961. The car did turn up not too long ago on eBay. The original 409 is long gone. Thankfully, its still out there somewhere!!

Hi guys,
Thanks for the warm welcome. As Aubrey already knows, my plans are to build a rather unusual beast (a '64 SS with a 427) and I would really appreciate input from those with knowledge on this site. I am going to start a thread in the Full Size Chevy area.
Adam :)
