No! I have two 58's with one piece bumpers. I'm sure you will hear from others as well.

Huggies I'm sure someone willcorrect me if I'm wrong about this, but I beleive that all the 58's sold in Calf had a one piece bumper in both front and back to get past one of Calf's strange laws. My 58 was origionally sold in Il. and it has the 3 piece setup. I've seen a few one piece bumpers in the past, so I know that they do exist!!!!!!! Mike

I'm arguying with a 17 year old girt who claims she has a 58 bel air hardtop...

She's telling me the Canadian cars had 1 piece bumpers and all american cars had 3 pieces bumpers...


That's also what she claims...

and for your information....in the 1950's all American GM's had 3 peice bumpers

Calif. chevys had 1 piece bumpers. Most cars for sale with them will list it as if it is something special. (1 pc California bumpers.) My 57 belair had one piece bumpers.

Huggies, go to the photo section and search raymar58454 to show her my 58 with one piece bumpers. Car was built in Los Angelos. Far as I can remember California was the only one with that law, they felt the one piece was stronger in an accident. Now, if you lived in Indiana and had dual tailights you had to disable one on each side, they felt it would confuse people following you thinking they were following two cars. A condition I have incurred at times when following a car with only one tailight.:beerbang :beerbang

My beat up original (I think) 1958 Canadian Delray Delivery has 1 piece bumper too both front and back.

Not claiming she is right, just stating what I've got in my car.
