Songs you've heard recently

I just finished posting final scores for the semester, and was listening to the radio and caught an old song from the 70s by Joni Mitchell, "Raised on Robbery". I know I have the vinyl album somewhere, but hadn't heard that song for a long time. Brought back fond memories...

I was suprised to note that the lyrics had a car mentioned in them (a '57 Biscayne). So here's my fun thing to do now that I've got time on my hands (besides working on the '62). While you're listening to the radio (if you do that at all) or you hear a song playing somewhere, note those songs that have "car mentions" in them. We all know tons o0f great songs with cars in them, but that's from memory. I'm looking for songs that you've heard today (or tomorrow, or the next) that come out of nowhere and mention something about cars, preferably Chevys, but any car would do for now.

This "hearing" stumbled on me, but now that I am "tuned in" I bet I hear more song with "car mentions". How about you?

Great imagination, bj, that was a good one. As far as the car songs go, I hear the same ones over and over. But two days ago I heard " The ballad of Thunder Road" for the first time in many years. Not really a car song , but brought back memories of the movie. I hope the younger guys will watch that movie some day to see how things were done in the 50s.
