Hello, I have been reading the posting on the web site and finally decided to sign up. I have a 1960 Nomad with Factory Air, PS, PB, Tinted Glass, Power Rear Window and should have a 348 in it. Back in '79 when we first got the car and we were young, dumb and more broke than now, we threw away the 348 because it had missing parts and its condition was unknown. We put a 283 from a '60 Parkwood in it and have been driving it ever since. Now I am in the process of getting a 348 together to replace the 283. Luckily I kept the original mounting bracket from the 348 for the Factory Air Compressor and the Power Steering. I also have a '56 Chevy I have owned since 1977 and have been a CCC Member for 30 yrs.

That Nomad is really special! Did you do the restoration of the body?
Your work bench looks way to clean for me, I suspect you can find everything right up front. I generally have to "sift through" a couple of places to locate my stuff :).
Not too hard to come up with workable heads for that 348. We have some members here that have some extras, and they come up on Ebay all the time. Check out the heads for sale and good luck making the right decisions. Keep us posted as you begin your assembly, we'll a toast one for you when you bring this baby back to life! It's a great feeling, having a "W" engine fire up in your engine bay :).
Cheers,
TomK

Thanks for the compliments Tom. My brother and I did all the Mechanical work but the body and paint was done by a local body shop. Actually that's not my workbench. We have a 14X28 storage building beside our Garage and I have been keeping all the Parts in there as I get them done. My work area is just as cluttered as everyone else. I'll let you all know how the engine goes; will probably be looking for some tips when it all starts coming together.
