hello & happy holidays to all . im new to your message board & wanted to say how excited I am to have found you . I recently aquired a 64 impala sport coupe and im psyched about getting her restored. I bought it from the second owner with the original 4 spd muncie, rear heavy duty susp, & brakes but the 425 horse was long gone. has anyone ever seen a regular impala optioned in this manner before?

Welcome to the site!:beerbang The 409 was available on all the full size cars so it's very comon to find them in regular Impalas. If you wanted a High Performance 409 you had to go with a standard transmission, I guess they figured the Powerglide wouldn't handle the power.:dunno
