I was told they wouldn't last but what is one to do when fixing up a car, leave old crappy handles on? The repro outer door handles I put on the 66 are showing some tiny pits here and there and I know this is only the beginning! :bang (had the same thing happen on my 69 stepside, they are now a complete mess!)
So far, the repro mirror is holding up but I guess that will go yet too. :cry
A friend of mine who I bought the car from (also a member here) put repro's on his '65 and told me that his pitted and his car never leaves the garage!
Mine has been outside and they lasted 4 months. That's sad....
Had another bit of good news today too. The mint condition brown dash pad in my 72 Chevelle that I babied for the past 10 years now has a split running down the middle! :mad: We had temps around 0 here lately, I guess that's what finally did it to the 33 year old dash pad.
I'm not looking any further, afraid I might find something else...:cuss
