So,,, we all should have our winter projects in good order by now.

Mine is coming along just fine as I now have the first mock build done and am ready to weld on the brackets like the exhaust pipe and fender mounts . Then drill a few holes here and there before the tear down to paint.

This is a "kit" bike (yah sure) that I ordered last April but finally got the last parts in Sept !!:doh

Even so,,, the parts all seem to be very high quality and fit well.
It has a Ultima frame, trans and engine.
Ultima seems to be the leader lately in manufacturing and machining their parts in the USA.

The engine is a 120 Cu in. monster !!!
130 RW HP with 135 LBFT torque !!!!
I think I`ll need a few boxes of Depends until I get used to it !!!!

Here are a few pictures of the mock up bike,,,

Trying to figure out the color scheme,,, like the burnt tangerine metallic or a heavy green metallic outer with a over coat of thin black for the interior.
Either way it will have a RatFink on the tanks !!!:brow

Enjoy the pictures,,,dq

Not car related, but here is my Winter project:

http://www.coventrypointe.biz/

We have eight condos "under roof", with two done, two almost done, and four needing completion. I have a lot of temporary storage behind those eight double garage doors!

Most days I am working on these buildings. I am also preparing to demolish the 100 year old farmhouse this Winter, which sits on a lot that will be built on.

Plenty of things to do during the days, but I still try to work on the '62SS in the evenings when possible. Sometimes I'm just too tuckered out. DQ knows what it's like to "renovate" a house for a few years, I've done that a bit. This is my first time at new construction, and it's been a learning experience.

Enjoy!

I just picked up my winter project this past Tuesday. I FINALLY found a 409 block and crank. It does have some stuck pistons/lifters, but other than that no cracked cylinders or block cracks. The BEST part of my find is that it is a 63' QG block that perfectly matches the 63' 340 HP heads and intake that I picked up last January. This will be a great addition to my 63' impala. My plans for it this winter is to drill the pistons full of holes and get them knocked out. The lifters are going to take some more soaking, but I have plenty of time. I also traded into a 63' water pump core. The shop that sponsors my the racing series that I participate in will bake and shot blast the block and heads. I am not trying to put together a numbers engine, but that is the way things are turning out.

As far as my current SBC/th350 that is in my car they will get fresh fluids and the whole car will get a good going over so that I am ready for the racing/driving season.

Looks like a good start DQ  , Those ultima motors are real good they are also built beefy in the bottom end areas where they need it, have heard nothing but good about them.
I would go with the tangerine color. I still believe a green bike is bad luck, I noticed Jireah has a sale on apehanger Z bars under 50 bucks, they would look realll good on there too :D .
I just sold a sissy bar off of a rigid I had about 6 months ago that would have beeen perfect for you. It was about 14" tall , round stock, tapered up to the top then tilted back. But thats just me. Make it like you want it, unique to you . Thats the fun about building your own. :clap :clap

Have Fun and Happy New Year
