I bought a box of parts at a swap yesterday that was marked 61 chevy. I know what all of the parts are except one. I gave the parts to a friend of mine restoring a 61, but kept the odd one. Part number on back is 3780963 General Detroit. Two mounting studs. Looks a bit like something from a 66-67 Chevelle dash? Check the pic, let me know. The same guy with box of parts had what he said was a 61 409 bare block, fresh +40 with a fully machined 427 crank for $2,000. He did not have the block with him so I could not check the numbers. Claims it came out of the 61 he was stripping. I got his phone number and then lost it on the way home. Maybe I will run into him next swap or find the number.

You have obviously never owned a 66 or 67 Chevelle.
That does not belong to any Chevelle 1964-1972.
Looks more like a biscayne or belair piece.
And I know I am not sure, because I have never owned the car that belongs to.
but definately not Chevelle.

Not Chevelle. How about the emblem on the glove box door on the 61 Belair? I know there is something there, but I don't know what it looks like.

could be a door panel emblem, or maybe dashboard.
what size does the emblem measure?

I guess the guy was right, all in box 61 chevy. Looks like it's headed to Ebay.

Models-

Looks just like the one one my '61 Belair - let me know when you put it on ebay. I could use one that's in decent shape. (Or maybe we can make a deal.) :brow

Hey Bob,

How about a 'gimme' area? I've got some stuff to give away......

'Freebies - pay the freight and it's your's'

Just a thought...

Don't need to wrench, any freebies can be sent right to me. :p :D

It is something to think about. Not sure how often it would be used though.

Any thoughts on this from our members? Speak up... :)

Great Idea Wrench , I'm sure there are a few of us that would be willing to help out another enthusiast with some of the things laying around that we will never use but wouldn't dare throw away ( Maybe we could make it Members only )

That would be cool! I have some stuff that will never be used by me but someone else probably could. I'd do the supporting member deal. That way the fly's on the wall would either join or leave.
