62 Horn Ring Emblem

I ran across the following picture the other day when checking out the Hubbards site. They had this listed for a 62-63 Impala SS. I don't recall seeing this in the assembly manual as part of the SS RPO. Anybody know if this SS horn ring emblem was actually used in 62?

I have a documented original 1962 SS built in Van Nuys, CA and it does not have such a horn ring. I believe mine is the same as the Impala made that year.

The catalog for Cars Inc. shows it as for 1963 Impala SS only.
