Everybody with a flat tappet cam has to read page 62 of the new Car Craft mag. The current crop of engine oil for passenger cars is lacking ZINC and causing cams to go round or scoring lifters. Solution, racing oil for a steady diet and Zinc additive for new engine break-in. Stuff like GM engine oil supliment. Great detailed answers by Comp Cams, Crane Cams and Quaker State. That's a good article. I guess it's racing oil for the old 409 from no on. Thanks!! I just got that issue of Car Craft today. I hadn't got that far yet.
