hi, my name is dirtman 08037,,, i have a 55 chevy bel air, and in the future, im considering installing a 409 in it. currently i have a 355 inch small block, but i do like the 409 look.

im considering installing the 409 in my 55 chevy,, can anyone tell me if there is a stud girdle made for these heads, or vavle guides made for the "W" engine? Thanks, dirtman08037

I have seen a stud girdle but don't remember from where. Probably Lamar Walden. I do have a set of guide plates I would sell, as I didn't use them. You can email me if you are interested in the guides.

I just finished up a show-winning 409 build-up in my '55' BeAir 2dr-post . It's a far trickier transplant than even a 454 BBC is, but, if done with patience, you will not be disappointed! I'd be happy to pass on what I learned, some of the problems encountered and how I solved them -- just ask. :deal
