59 PU front end suspension

I would like to replace the front axel on my 59 PU with a late model suspension . I have heard that a mid 70's chevy PU will do the job but I dont know for sure what years will work. Anyone that has done this or knows about it please help me.

I have heard about this conversion as well, though I have never seen one nor I have actually talked to anyone that had any experience with it. There are several good truck sites that discuss front suspension conversions for the '55-'59 trucks.

I installed a Fatman's Fabrications Mustang II kit on mine and I'm happy with it. There is also a conversion out there based on the Dodge Dakota front suspension. And there are the old school subframe swaps using a Camaro or Chevelle clip or a Mopar (Aspen or Volare I think).

If I were doing this today I would give very serious consideration to the conversion from Jim Meyers Racing.
