View Full Version : 4 speed driveshaft

1 am swapping 4 speed in place of the orignial power glide what if any is different from manual to automatic with the driveshaft ? will the driveshaft lenght be the same ?

Front section needs to be 24.97 in long. your P/G shaft is 24.03:)

Dave,,,also make sure the crossmember (slant) is to the rear of car and use the upper holes for mounting to frame. Mike:doh

Mike, Ive always used the lower holes. I cant seem to do anything right!!!

upper holes are used for the three speed trans only.

thanks for the info,you answered a couple of questions i didn,t know to ask.yall stick around i am sure to need more help before this car hits the road.i have a 340 hp 63 model in the mach. shop i should be bringing home any day now. thanks again dave

The 4-spd shaft is shorter than the P/G shaft. Same length as 3-spd w/OD.
