Vin On Block ????

Hey guys, Is there a location on the block where you would find the VIN? On a 283 and 409 ???Thanks RJ

At the passenger side pad on the 409 (all 409's should have a vin # unless a replacement that wasn't stamped by the dealer) Of course there is debate on the 61 409's if they were vin stamped. I think most all 283's won't because produced before 1962.

I forgot that there is a difference for the Corvette 283 but I don't remember tonight..But they would be stamped on the passenger side pad also if applicable

I don't think you'll find a VIN stamped on a 283 as only high performance blocks up to 1968 got the VIN stamp. (so I read somewhere anyway, there may be exceptions???)

409's should have the VIN but some are known not to.

Check the stamping pad on the front of the engine just under the passenger side head.
