Hey guys, I finally got my 409 mounted in my 56 chevy pickup.
I hung the engine in the bay where it looked the best and had good clearances.
Then I moved the bellhousing crossmember forward to meet the engine.
Then I installed a tubular universal V8 motor mount and bolted it in place.
Then I installed a tubular universal transmission mount.
Ya think that this is enough overkill to contain the beast????:brow
Now I will remove it all and rebuild the engine and paint the bay.
Feels good to be one step closer............:beerbang

Are you going to build headers to clear the steering box or did you put a different steering box in it? :dunno Roy

My truck has all original front end and steering. My engine has 793 and 794 exhaust manifolds. I had to move the engine forward enough to clear the steering gearbox and still have good clearances between the fan and radiator.
I can figure out how to put a monster 409 where a 6 banger used to be but cant figure out how to shrink photos to post them.......go figure:doh

If you would like, send me the pictures and I can shrink them and post them for you, or shrink them and send them back so you can post them. Will help in any way you want.

I,d be happy with an empty casing set up that does not have to be functional... just for show:bow
