I have been a car enthusiast ever since I can remember, and it seems that I have passed that on to both of my sons. My older son and I restored a '73 Corvette 5 years ago when he was 16, and His younger brother found a '63 Impala 2-door hardtop that I helped him restore 2 years ago. We have a twin 4-barrel 409 intake, and wanted to build a motor to go under it, but that was going to break the bank, so we went with a 327 instead. Both of the cars are nice looking daily/wekend drivers that they have taken good care of so far. I recently bought a '61 Bubbletop with some nice options, and searching for information is how I came to be a new member. This car is a midnight blue (914) 4-speed car with positive traction and a FH code 350 HP tri-power 348, (a $365.30 option). I have the sales agreement with option list and prices of those options. The car was bought new in January of 1961 in Dayton, Ohio and I bought the car from the man who aquired it from the original owner's son. The car still has the clear plastic on the seats, and the original breather was in the trunk. It's a real time capsule. It has been through a cheap repaint many years ago complete with bondo around the headlights and rear quarters, but otherwise it is a solid old car. The trim code says 37-C and the car had a padded dash, but I'm curious what the 37 designates unless it's referring to the 1837 code that V-8 Sport Coupes had. I will try to post pictures as soon as my sons show me how, but in the meantime I would appreciate any leads on the availability of lower rear fenders and the body panels under the front bumper. The car was undercoated by the dealer ($30) , and the floor pans are solid, but it has some rust in the corners and around the headlights. I am looking forward to hearing from anyone who enjoys old cars.
Thanks,

Lee, welcome to the club. Sounds like a nice car. Was it bought at White Allen in Dayton??? They are still in business, not that it matters. I can't help you much on the 61 stuff, but we have several 61 guys in here that really know there stuff when it comes to the 61s. I'm sure they can lead you to the parts you need.
Don't know if you had noticed or not, but we are having a get together at Clay City in a couple of weeks. The first weekend in June. June 2-4. Come on over and make yourself known. It's going to be a real friendly get together. We would love to have you. Might even be a couple of 61 guys there to give you some leads on parts. What part of KY are you in? Close to Clay City????? You don't have to race, just be there and friendly. We are a community here.

The dealer in Dayton was Ray Bryant Chevrolet Company at 1620 Brown Street, and 37-C was the Acc Code, not the Trim Code (sorry about that). I'm not very computer literate, and I'm not sure what icons activate the quick reply, so if something goes awry, feel free to advise on any topic. It seems that I have stumbled into a bunch of friendly car people, and I hope I can make it to Clay City for the get-together, but I will have to manipulate my schedule to do that, since I'm supposed to work that weekend at the power plant where I'm employed.
Thanks,
Lee
