johnny, Most people use a formula where you bring #1 to TDC then set half the rockers, then bring #6 up set the other half. I prefer to use EOIC As the exhaust opens , set the intake.......As the intake closes, set the exhaust. Hope this helps.

$2000 for 333 truck heads is indeed rare. Also rare that you could find someone to buy them for that price.

I agree with Ronnie,I've adjusted my valves for 25 years this way.

Setting solid lifters:

Start with #1 cylinder. As exhaust valve starts to open (approximately .050), set #1 intake valve.
As #1 intake valve opens fully and starts to close (approximately .050), set #1 exhaust valve.
Repeat on other seven cylinders

I adjust mine the same as Ronnie and Jim. The difference is I follow the firing order. I start with number 1 exhaust and do all the exhaust following the firing order. Same for the intake. I am very anal when I do my valves. I adjust each valve at the same spot on my degreed balancer. I turn the engine over my hand with all spark plugs out and both valve covers off.
