cracked cylinder head on 348

Things seem to be going from bad to worst. First a burnt valve now a cracked
cylinder head. Found a different head to replace the cracked one but should I
save the cracked one? Can they be repaired (welded) like the engine blocks
or are they of no value? Should I keep it to have a numbers matching engine?

Russ, It depends on where the crack is.
There are several good places in Portland that do cast head repair.
I think the one by the Ross Island bridge is called Central Cylinder Head off 11th and Powell.

I would call them or take it in and see what they say,,, dq
