Try http://www.shafersclassic.com/chevy/chevrole.htm I just installed one of their systems on my 62. I was VERY impressed. Everything just bolted in. 2 1/2 manifold to muffler and 2" muffler back. I got the aluminumized, was to cheap to spring for stainless steel. I heard showcars exhaust don't fit that well. But get the showcars correct hangers and you will be pleased. FYI, their website is bad. Call and talk to their techs. Mac

Flowmaster makes a 2 1/2 kit. All pipes included. Saw a kit on a 62. Looked good. Showcars pipes and hangers fit like crap. I know first hand. Flowmaster kit comes with all hangers and clamps and fits good.

Does Flomaster's kit work with stock 2 1/2 exhaust manifolds or is it for headers only?

Thanks for the compliment Mike. Keep checking on ebay for the 62 convertible. They show up from time to time. There was a 409 62 convert that had a 65000.00 bid and it didn't meet the reserve.
This one here.

Iv'e seen them sell for as little as 20000.00 for a solid driver.
BTW, Showcars has two set of hangers for the X frame 409. One is real cheap and is generic, maybe 35.00. The other one is an exact duplicate of the originals. I think for about 140.00. You'll be happy with the second one.

The car I saw had headers. I have the good hangers from showcars and they suck. They are too big for the pipe. Had to shorten every one to fit the pipe tight. They will work but you have to make them work. When I called them about it they said they had never had a problem with them. When I was at the Kansas City convention Showcars had a frame there with their exhaust and hangers on it. You could rattle every hanger on the pipe! Ask other members that were there they will remember.

You must have gotten the 2 1/2" hangers. They make two size hangers.:)

Yes I got the 2 1/2 hangers along with the 2 1/2 pipe kit from Showcars. I would recommend some other kit. Fit on all parts was poor at best.:dunno

I got mine from a place in Ohio. Bent to computer card spec. slip joint half way with plenty of extra for adjustment and easy to ship. good fit on 2.5". I don't see why they could not ship to Canada. This was a few years ago and I dont have the name or number but I recall seeing them in the Mag. recently. Hemmings Motor News (monthly)
