View Full Version : 4 speed shifter Height

Ive got a 62 4 speed with bench seat...the mechanism is hurst, not stock..but the shifter rod is stock ...I suspect that the shifter is too high due to the taller mechanism...if anyone has a bench seat 4 speed.. what is the correct distance from the bench seat to the ball when in 4thh gear.... hope im explaining this so someone may understand what im looking for...thanks

There was a discussion on this subject before, but was for 61 car w/ bench seat, might apply for 62 car.

That first bend in the stick (the one closest to the floor; where it starts to bend forward) should be maybe about an inch above the stock boot. Read that thread and I think you'll learn what you need to know.
