Jim, the ride looks great, and by the looks of the backround you couldn't have found a better place to build. Looks to have history!

Jim, you have absolutely out done yourself. You need your own TV show. That's better than any of the ones I've seen built by those supposedly top notch builders. Yours shows CLASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The extra parts were worth it.

That thing reminds me of a Honda 750-4 powered creation I saw at the '84 USGP at Laguna Seca. This thing had a frame made from galvanized water pipe. At one point during the weekend the officials allowed spectator riders to make an escorted lap on the track. You had to undergo a cursory safety inspection and were given a pass and then had to follow the leader. The maniac on the water pipe creation did not pass the safety inspection, did not get a pass, but did bust past the officials at the track entrance, and proceded to make a hot lap until he crashed HARD in the carousel. Wonder of wonders the frame failed:dunno

He did win a free ride to the ER in a helicopter:? , then again I'll bet they sent him a bill later.

What a maroon:stooges

MAN,,,, Seems like I`m only a half hour from firing up the chopper !!

But that half hour has been days now !!:doh

Part of the problem was the wiring schematic !!!
EASY they say,,, color coded wire harness,, but why an extra yellow wire hanging into space with no where to go,,, not listed on the schematic ???:bang

Took a while to figure that out and a few other color combos that didn`t mate.
12 pin connector from handle bar controls to main harness ,,, follow the instructions,,,,easy to read,, blue to blue, gray to gray, black to black,,etc,,,etc,,, but no yellow wire even mentioned!!! No yellow wire on main harness!!!

SHURE !!!! NO PROBLEM !!!!!:cuss Head lite all screwed up!!!

Soooo, take apart hand controls and figure out what colored wire does what,,

Get this,,, I think the Taiwanese thought they would pull a fast on on this American !!!:nono1:

White to blue from headlight,,,yellow to white from head light,,,etc,,,

Got that all done and working before installing the electronic controller,,
You have to have the main wiring figured out before installing it then just clip some wires and install it !!

SURE !!! :stooges

This electronic controller controls the brake, running and turn lights self cancel.

Makes the running/brake lights and the four two wire (hot and ground) LED lights (two front, two back) light as turn, brake and running lights.

Easy directions ,,, just follow the simple diagram it says !!!:grumble: :dunno

I`ve spent hours trying every way to hook up this dang thing,,:bang

Calling the tech line today,,, update later,,dq

dq, Bike looks great. I know you will make noise soon, afterall , its just a few wires. How is the welder doing? Are you a skilled craftsman yet? Good luck, :)

Ya know,,, I can weld almost like a pro !!!! I gotta give credit to the Millermatic though,, what a fine machine !!

Had a long phone talk with the module tech and it seems that the module is defective:cuss

O-well ,, at least it wasn`t my wiring,,, sent it to Sparks NV for testing and it should be returned in a week.

All that is left to do is wiring in the module, add fluids and install the exhaust.
O yah,,, still waiting on the correct length clutch cable,,

Mean whileI should be able to fire her off anytime,,,:D

Models ,,,wild bike !!!!

Now here are the latest from my buildup !!!

Right gas tank is at the painters as he mocks up the graphics.
Hopefully the tanks will be done by next week about the same time for the electronic module to come back then she should be ready to ride !!!:D

I`m going to try and fire her off tonite if all goes well,,,

Latest pictures,,,,,dq

SHE RUNS !!!!!

Fired her off last night !!!
She sounds like a nitro V8 !!!!

UNBELIEVABLE !!!!

I can`t believe how radical this thing is,,, going to have to wear diapers for the first few rides !!:rofl

Also the battery is a pile of crap!!!! Sell you a bike kit with a monster engine and give you a Vespa battery,,,,,

The crappy battery would only turn it over a couple revolutions before just getting a click from the starter,,,,, then back on the charger ,,

Went and had dinner and was feeling a little bummed,,, came back to show it off to my girl friend and thought what the heck,,, pressed the go button and she fired right offf !!!:D

Off today to get the new dry pack supper battery,,,,dq

Well ,,, I took her on the maiden ride last night !!!:D

RAN GREAT!!! FAST,,, unbelieveablly fast!!!!

Not any problems to speak of ,,, just a small glitch in the clutch,
had to reajust it a couple time. I think it is just the clutch seating in.

Still need to mount the dash and a few other cosmetic parts but other then that she`s done !!:brow

I`ll post pictures later ,,, off the the drags,,, dq

dq409
08-28-2006, 08:24 PM
OK,,, still not totally finished but riding her !!!!

Now that I can ride her and check every thing out I`ll be doing a few changes.
The front end is too short so longer fork tubes will be swapped in,,and the pipes ,,,, UNGODLY LOUD !!!!

You know I like loud pipes but even I have limits and with the 120 inch engine this bike is deafening !!! Fun for a block or two but then reality sinks in,,,,

Take a gander,,,dq

Ray likey bikey. will it out run the W ??

ABSOLUTLY !!!!

Power to Weight ratio is the answer !!!

Speaking of that,,,
Went to the all Harley Drags last weekend and I gotta say those riders of the nitro bikes have HUGE kahunas !!!!

6 second passes at over 200 mph on the rear tire only !!!!
The front wheel is up past the 3/4 mark !!!!:bow
