I'll betcha Phil Reed is there. Tell him we all said "hello", and we miss him. Phil used to post on here. He has been missing in action for quite a while.

I'm planning on driving the 62SS to Good Guys. Plans are to depart Columbia, MO early Saturday morning, get there (KC) that morning. Will be there through Sunday. Never been to a Good Guys, my buddies say that it is huge and a lot of fun!
I hope to enter the 62 not for the show/judging, but so I can take a lap around the track :). James Schrader (my best buddy and ace mechanic) and his wife will be riding out with me. James had a huge hand in getting my car done over the past 2 years :). Great guy!
I'll be one of the thousands with cars there, but mine is an Ermine White SS with Aqua interior. Refitted with a 409 (stroker) and a four speed with posi. Has Missouri plates that read "A62 SS". I will have a 348-409 Forum T shirt on and stand about 6'5" tall and in my mid 50s :). Hope to see you there!
I just turned 3000 miles on the new rebuilt engine. It has bugs on the radiator and the hood lip molding, and it gets driven nearly every day :).
Looking forward to being there and meeting new friends (fanatics?)!!!

I think I might be there but not with my car. I'll be in KC for the weekend for a get together. I've been before but make sure you bring sun glasses and a hat or some sort of fold out awning. There is ZERO shade on that infield!!! It was hot the year I was there (2004) but I don't think its supposed to be too bad this year.

They're saying 79 degrees on Saturday and similar on Sunday with perhaps a small chance of precipitation. We may be going to a second venue on Sunday. Some of my buddies prefer flat black Rat Rods and there is some event at a local Drive-In in the downtown KC area.
My earlier (in the summer) plans were to complete a Rat Rod myself out of my 1961 Pontiac Bonneville, but that hasn't happened and neither has thiers :). I guess my shiney car is the only one that might be making the trek :) :) :).
There's always next year for the Flat Black Brigade from Columbia, MO!!!

My buddies cancelled out on the Good Guys trek, they decided to go to South Carolina to pick up a Dodge Viper -- I guess that's OK :).
After a night and some early morning wrenching, I finally got my '62 more roadworthy (changed out alternator, tuned carbs, changed plugs, adjusted valves, fresh fluids) and decided to make the trip myself. It's just two hours away, and I needed to get out of town and have some fun, even if I was by myself.
I got a late start and got there about 11:00 (had to get a second alternator on the way out, did the swap in the parking lot :)) and had a good time before zipping back to Columbia at the end of the day. Decided not to make a whole weekend of it, just an out and back. Didn't enter the '62 to get inside the track since I wasn't staying very long. Because of that I probably didn't connect with Ross or Dave or anyone else that was there. I'm not much for sitting next to my car, I'd rather check out everyone else's :) :) :).
Here are a few pics of some X frame W cars.
Enjoy!
