A couple of weeks ago I was bidding on an Ebay item located near San Diego CA, and came up a bit short. Another bidder trumped me at the last minute and I thought I had lost another one…

Then the seller contacted me a few days later with a legitimate Second Offer and I took him up on it. Problem was the item was located about 1800 plus miles away from me. I then explored options for shipping the item to Columbia, Missouri. Since this object was already on a trailer I thought it might not be too hard to secure transportation. I found many transportation specialists didn’t want to haul it since it was not under it’s own power, and were asking a premium to transport the object to the Midwest.

It was then I contacted Cecil Loter (OldSkyDog) from the Forum, as he was looking at the item as well. He mentioned that he might be taking a trek to the Midwest sometime this Fall and that he was about 6 hours away from the San Diego area where the item was kept. He graciously offered to take the time and energy to make the trip to the area, pick the item up and bring it back to Mesa, AZ, where he lives. And hopefully later this Fall Cecil will make arrangements to visit the Midwest and stop by with the trailer, and we get to meet and greet. I hope he doesn’t get toooo bored looking at my X frame projects and various W engines. I humbly offer the respite of my home for as long as he and his traveling companion can put up with me :)

So a big thanks to Cecil for his support and camaraderie, and I look forward to connecting with another member of this prestigious group in person :) :) :).

Thanks, Cecil for your help and support for a fellow enthusiast !!! It is this kind of action that binds us together, and I see that bond getting stronger and stronger as we continue to extend the hobby and the excitement behind it.

There are a lot of guys that will go the extra mile to help you in this group.Even guys we've never met. I think it's great. Whenever we race somewhere, I never even bring a winch. If the guys can't pick my car up when it's broke they push it back on the trailer for me. They're GREAT!. Good job, Cecil. Great find, Tom. Bob
