Hello all!
Shopping for a rad lately for the 32 w/409. Have found a really good deal on an aluminum 2 row with 1 inch tubes. Looking for input since this is my first 409. The 409 no doubt has some extra water volume, say over a small block. One good thing about the build is it is a higboy, no fenders or hood sides so air flow will be at a maximum. Will also be using an electric fan. Think this will work o.k.? Thanks

It should work just fine with no hood or sides. I don't know that the coolant volume would be significantly different than a SBC. Probably less than a gallon.

I used the Walker Cobra in my deuce, and with full tins louvered of course With a 425+ hp 409 i dont have a problem with heat even at 100 mph for 10 minuits in summer. This is a common choice with BBC and Chysler Hemi's. Only a little pricey at 525.00. I did however use a raised truck water pump to center a smaller engine driven fan and custom shroud. Hope this may help you out. Happy Hotroding!!!!!
