'64 Chevelle SS with the 327, 4 speed. It had the factory rear end, so I had to wait for the top end to bounce the HO Mustangs. OC I didn't brag about it 'cause that was street racing and I didn't want to let my son know I EVER did anything like that!!

I doubt I would have a lot to add to your discussions. My main input to 'Soo Sad' was polishing the chrome while riding in the towed car to the different strips. I helped get the heads ready, but just cosmetically. We polished the combustion chamber with a rotary steel brush on a drill. We HOPED it would impart a 'swirl' pattern on the incoming air for the cylinder.
That was very old low tech enhancements we tried.
Now, when they built the "King Camaro", Dan (Gear) used some of Fred's ideas from his flying background. One of those was the use of 2 ignitions firing 2 spark plugs in the cylinder. I think the 2nd plug was installed in a spacer plate between the block and heads. Fred can fill you in on that if anyone is interested.
Any one who has ever flown will be familiar with the 'mag' check you go through as part of the preflight - left, right, both. That's where the basic idea came from. I don't KNOW but I'm sure our Dad, who was an A&E Mech. had some input on that.

John,
Welcome. I always felt that Fred knew what I was talking about when it came to airplanes and you too.
Semper FLY.......with apologies to our Marine friends.

Here's a link to some King Camaro pictures from the Bison Dragways site... http://www.mts.net/~57ford/reunion10.html You've got to scroll about 2/3 of the way down the page. There's a picture of the fiery crash and the newspaper article that followed. The two plug heads are also mentioned... Seems like you guys were ahead of your time with that idea.:beerbang
