Don't know if this has been posted, but a friend called and told me our guys were on Horse Power TV this afternoon. The show may repeat several times. Near Chi-town they are on 3 times in a row on Spike TV starting at 9 am. He saw Gerry's 61 along with Fred,Denny and that strange Purple car. It was the NSCA race from Morocco. They had a clip of Denny polishing off Stephanie to win Nostalgia Super Stock. This would be a good one to tape. I haven't seen it but will try. Not sure how often they repeat shows and they may vary programs in other areas.
At that race, all the 409 cars won first round. Bob

thanx for the heads up, Bob. i'll try to get that episode captured on dvd. i have seen all the cars you mentioned run.
I never went to Morocco, but a car i helped build did.
when i worked with Chick DeNinno we built an IHRA mountain motor pro stock ford probe for Ronnie Sox and Buddy Martin. The 813 inch shotgun hemi let an oil line go at about 400' and Ronnie balled the car up. it flipped over 13 times I still have the right hand door and front quarter of that car hangin in my garage. last time i saw Ronnie he signed the door and told me "I really got my bell rung in that one" his son Dean told me it was way worse than he said.

I was watching that Musclecar episode on TV yesterday morning, and in the race portion of the half hour they chronicled a brother-sister pair of racers from the midwest. Can't remember their names right off, but they showed scenes of the cars lined up to race at a dragstrip in Indiana. The camera went over the line of cars real quick, but near the front of that line was the unmistakable Black over Red 1963 409 Chevy Totten LaPole car :) :) :). You just knew Fred was behind that wheel!
I also think I saw the 62 car of Denny Ford in action on that show. It showed the car taking off at the line, I think against one of the brother-sister pair?
Fred, we are all thinking of you, and hope you are having a Merry Christmas in that place up above .
Peace be with you all!

Bob: I didn't remember Sox messing up that car but I do remember those "Carolina Mountain Motors" as we used to call them many years ago. Some loose oil line fittings have ended up in history. I remember when Ernie Elliott left a power steering line loose on the Thunderbird at Talladega many years ago and took two laps to retighten.. As they say the rest of that afternoon is in the history books and will probably stay that way.... Sorry to hear your line didn't turn out that way.

I taped the Horse Power show. I have been trying to find it since it first aired when we were at ths season final at Columbus. When I slowed it down you can see Denny and I next to Freds car in the lanes. Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year To all . Bo

DQ If I can get one of the kids to help me transer it from VHS, I'll get it out to you. You can see Fred sitting in his car, Have to watch frame by frame. You coild always count on Fred being the firsy to be ready to battle. He's all the way up front in the staging lane. There's a shot of me talking to the enemy(Ford guy).
At that race we had a 59, 61,62 63 and 64 09 cars and all won first round. The race they showed was Denny polishing off the girl (Stephanie) that won the last 2 events. She red bulbed but Denny had her covered. Her 930 HP BBC wasn't enough to handle our "RINGER"! Bob
