Here are some picture a friend sent me from Nebraska. We have been having some bad weather here in the NW but these guys have really been hit hard. Take a look and, for those of you that may have experienced this storm we hope you all are OK.

We are over in central Missouri, and had a similar delivery of ice these past few days. Everything was closed today (MLK Day) including schools, mail delivery, you name it.

Just the other day it was sunny and reasonably warm, and I was out in the Impala putting some "409 miles" on. Even took the Corvette out. A guy stopped by to look at one of my 409 engine blocks, wanted to put it in a 1965 Stingray :). Had one in a '69 Corvette already.

Not much getting about now though! Instead I've been trapped inside doing bookwork and reading a lot near the fireplace. Left my tools elsewhere and can't get to them :(. Maybe I can clean the basement out of all that old stuff my wife says I have laying around?

Hope anyone travelling is safe and sound.

Best,
TomK

Tom:
I was wondering how you made out in the ice. Sounds like it is all around you.

Tripower:
Well done!! Your pictures really give us some detail as to what it was like.

Tom, I was wondering if you guys were getting hit with that ice storm. I too have been sitting around the fire reading. I went through my 61' shop manual the other night and found some discrepancies. This is an original manual that was published in 1960. It states the "348 Super Turbo-Trust Special" is 335 HP @ 5800. Everything I have ever read states it is 350 HP @ 6000.:dunno

I also was doing a little work on the 61'. Had a little leak in the rear dif. Fixed that and then ran into town to get some dif. lube and posi additive and stopped by an old wrecking yard and did some scrounging. I wish I would have had my camera. There were a couple 59's about three 62's one which was a SS one 61' 4 door hdt. a couple 64's and one 60' 4 door post. nothing of any value all rusted but it was still fun...:clap :clap We topped out at about 30 today which is cold for us. We are suppose to get a bunch of snow tonight and then rain tomorrow. That will make a big mess.

WE HAVE ICE. It looks like a war zone here, trees broken powerlines down and Sunday 90 percent power out. It was 5 degrees this morning and power is coming back on with some on and then back off after a few hours. My daughter has been without power for 3 days. We have power and it seems to be staying on. It is supposed to be at 0 or below tonight:eek: I saw about 50 power company trucks coming in from the north about 2:00 pm today, don't know where they are from but I guess they are coming to put up power lines. We have about 1" to 1 1/2" ice on trees and power lines. We don't have any big trees near our house but some people have had trees come down through their houses. It is a mess and I thank the Lord we have been spared any major damage at our place.:bow Roy

Hey DQ seeing you are driving an oil truck reminds me of a story when I was on the fire dept near Tacoma. One of the firemen worked driving an oil truck delivering heating oil on his off days. At one stop the lady had a Collie dog that would make runs at him trying to bite him. He complained but the lady said her dog wouldn't bite anyone:rolleyes: . He was putting oil in the tank when the Collie came up behind him and nailed him on the leg, he turned around and covered the dog with oil. The dog started yelping and the lady came to the door and the dog ran in the house covered with oil.:rofl :rofl He got fired but said it was worth it. Roy

Then another of his projects 39' fiat Topolino that he is just starting . Just sold his 409 anglea to build the fiat...:clap :clap :clap
