Just got my Antique Automobile Quarterly magazine in the mail yesterday, and what did I see on page 46??? A beautiful 2 page feature on Tommy's special prize. Not to mention an inside cover shot on the rear cover of the magazine.
:bow :bow :bow
I saw this car at Hershey last fall, and the pictures (though nice) really don't do the car justice. You've got to see it to believe it and ,although not a GM car, I can and do appreciate fine craftsmanship when I see it... We all know what it takes to build one the right way.
This car truly is a WINNER in my book !!!
Congratulations, Tommy, for your awards last year and for getting your car featured !!!
You're The Man!

Thanks guys, that article was a supprise to me. They photographed my 61SS earlier last summer at the AACA Grand National event so I had been expecting that to appear in the magazine. The Starliner photo's were taken in the late summer at the meet in Asheville N.C. which was the last show that my wife was able to attend with me so that will always be very special to me.
Maybe we'll see the SS in the magazine sometime later.
BTW, the Asphalt Angels Car Show is in Richmond Va. next weekend (2/9/07 thru 2/11/07), this is advertised as one of the better indoors on the east coast. The 61 SS and the Starliner will be displayed together in memory of my wife at that show. If anyone is in the area, stop by and say hello.

Man-Oh-Man...all these poster girls:brow
When is the last time our freind Tommy touched a car that didn't find it's way into a national publication??? Is anybody old enough to remember that far back???;)
There was the 66 Chev a few years back as well! He calls his 63 his driver:rofl :rofl :rofl I'd crawl through a 1/4 mile...you know the rest!
Congratulations Tommy on this car, and being published in AAQ. For anyone that can get to Richmond next weekend, these two cars are the Dynamic Duo! I saw the 61SS at the GM Nationals at Carlisle nearly 2 years ago. I don't think I have ever seen a restored car that looked as originally detailed out as this particular example. It isn't often that the attention to detail, commitment to research and authenticity, and the hands with the craft and the patience converge in one person. :clap :clap :clap

Tommy:
Thank for for the notification and the invite. Next weekend is our "winter" show in Ocean City. I am tempted not to take mine but to drive down for the day to see your two masterpieces. I heard about your 61 at Carlise from a friend who had his Pontiac SD next to or near your car. He was very impressed with the 61 also
