Watching the news today and global warming is front and center. Watch out for legislation that will attack older cars. The automakers love this stuff because they look at it as a way to force people to give up old cars and buy new. Anyway keep your eyes and ears open to what state and federal governments are doing on this very important agenda. It is ludricrous our old cars make any impact on global warming but we will be lumped in if we don't do a lot of hollering.:cuss Roy

My son came over for a visit and we were talking about the global warming frenzie. He had an article from 1979 that said we were entering another ice age. We have these cycles over a period of years and like Chicken Little, people run around screaming the sky is falling. I believe that we should do all we can to mimumize the polution that we put into our world but let's look at it calmly and see what impact our actions have on others. When something is done let it be done where the must good with the least impact on people's lives.
When I first retired from the Fire Dept., I went to work as a warehouse manager for an import business. We had some camo T-shirts that we were selling and I pointed out that they had been soaked in some chemical and they just fell apart when pulled on. I pointed it out to the owner and he said keep shipping them because he wasn't going to lose money. Sad to say many big and small businesses only think of their bottom line not what is the right thing to do. The owner would have lost money on those shirts but it would not have hurt him that bad, we sold a lot of good stuff besides those shirts. Businesses need to look at what they propose to remedy the global warming so it does the most good not the profit only.:nono1: Roy

Watch out guys, here in the u.k we have 'congestion charge' in London, £8 per day to enter. Some London districts are starting to charge excessive amounts for what they term 'gas guzzlers' to park outside there house, (by gas guzzler they mean anything 2000cc or above) - £300 a year. Planes, now an enviromental 'tax' on the price of plane tickets - £80 a ticket. There's talk of having satelite trackers fitted in ALL cars, and being charged per mile. Don't start me on what they are trying to do on 'modified car' legislation!

Neil, Sounds like you guys are in for some tough times Sorry to hear that. Driving our old cars is expensive enough without Government meddleing. I will interject that today "global warming" came back to Texas. 70 deg and sunny. Got the old Impala out and went cruising. What a great day!! Old Man Winter is coming back in two days, but it was nice for a while............:)

I lived in the Michigan UP for a few months in 1971. One day, I noticed our dog was missing. I went outside to call him, but it was so cold, that when I called out his name, the words froze in mid air. But not to worry. 2 days later, when the temperature got above freezing, the words thawed out, my dog heard his name, and he came on home. True story.:rofl :rofl :rofl
