I have a 59 chevy 2 1/2 ton truck with a 348 and the carb on it is a piece of crap.We rebuilt it once but it is still not reliable. does anyone know what modern carb would fit on it?????:bang :bang :bang

If it's a WCFB, you're pretty much out of options, except for maybe a Rochester 4-jet. Those had a small bolt pattern, I believe. Now, if memory serves me correct, there were some early Carters that would fit. Small mouth, I think. Good luck finding one. See, the intake bores were smaller than in later intakes, which will restrict proper operation of the rear throttle plates. If you happen to have a two bbl, then you have many more options, just go buy one at your favorite parts store.
I hope I'm telling you right. It's been quite a long time since I messed with the old style set-up you're speaking of.
Now, my question is this: Are you sure the carb is the problem?

Just buy an adapter. Use the Edlebrock AFB carb.

yes im pretty shure thats the problem. because were getting a good spark but it wont fire. it just floods itself out.:bang :bang

I forgot to say that the carb thats on it is a rochester 4 jet
