in 1959 we installed a 348 315 hp w motor in a 58 corvette, ran well. in1960 we installed a . pontiac 389 in a corvette, ran well, in 1961 installed a cadillac engine in a corvette with a hydro , ran well. well those are my stories. poison ivy

IVY,,,, THATS HOTRODDING !!!!! You put the best and fastest engines in you Corvette for the years mentioned !!!!
But a diesel engien in a Corvette???????
O well at least it was an ugly year Corvette !!!
I would have let is have the diesel knock and lots of smoke to SHOW it had a diesel engine in it !!!:eek: :D

there was a 68 vette on ebay with a flat head ford engine installed. i think he replied to a buyers question at the bottom of the page, he did it just to P O the corvette numbers guys:argue: doc

A diesel in a Vette is strange, but not any moreso than a '73 Vega with a 383 stuffed into it , or a 426 shoved into a Plymouth Duster that originally came with a 225 slant six. Evidently, someone had the idea and invested the time and money to do it to make them happy...
That type of car building is fine with me...
No guidebooks, no authenticity manuals, Just do your own thing :cheers
In the late 80's I had a buddy with either a 5.7 or 6.2 diesel in his early 80's firebird. But who cares!!!:rofl If it runs on home heating fuel, it ain't no good!

as a youngster, i really wanted to take my 65 C-10 body and mount it on a C-60 chassis. detroit, split shift, the works. never did that......this is what i did instead.
