Sorry I could'nt remember which thread the stuck piston was in, so I will put a tip here. A good friend suggests using fresh brake fluid to free up rusty pistons. The brake fluid draws out moisture and leaves a powder, making removal easier. :clap

When I worked for a concrete company sometimes drivers didn't cleanup their trucks like they should and concrete accumilated in the drum. We would climb down in the drum with jackhammers and clean it out. We had a company come by that would clean the drums for a fee. If there was a goodly amount they drilled holes in the concrete and put small amounts of powder in and blew it up. This cracked the concrete but did no harm to the drum. On Myth Busters on the Discovery Channel they put dynamite in a concrete truck to say that it was a myth. I have no idea how much they used but 50,000 lbs of iron disappeared. They said it was a myth to use dynamite to take concrete out of a concrete truck. So when you're using the stuff just like booze a little goes a long way.:D Roy

Guys, See my post on stuck pistons at "Sixes and Small Blocks", subject-238 with 4 in. bore. Get a product called Sili Kroil from Eastwood for stuck pistons, you won't be sorry.

Thanks Wayne for re-posting the suggestion. From now on when someone "searches" stuck pistons, this info should come up.

Just to throw my two cents worth of Experience....I used a deadblow hammer (polyurethane covered) putting the head in the half bore of the rod.....proped the rod up with wood so that it would not hit the cylinder wall and used a big hammer to hit the bottom of the deadblow handle. worked like a champ.
